The Simple Practice Method That Actually Works

We've all been there — wrestling with the same tricky lick or passage, practicing the whole thing over and over, and getting nowhere. So frustrating.

The good news is you don't need hours of extra practice to fix it — you just need to approach it differently.

In this video I'll show you the exact method I used to help a student master a tricky lick in just 10 minutes — the final lick from Eric Clapton's "Strange Brew" intro solo.

Here's what we'll cover:

  • - Identifying the one weak link that's causing all the problems
  • - Isolating and smoothing that small section in isolation
  • - Practicing getting into the problem part
  • - Practicing getting out of the problem part
  • - Putting it all back together — and watching it come together smoothly

This method works on licks, chord changes, strumming patterns — anything you're stuck on. It's one of those simple ideas that changes how you approach practice forever.

Grab your guitar, give it a try, and let me know how you get on.

Thanks for watching.

James
